Our Mission

Our mission is to bring awareness to, increase and retain the number of Black technologists in the tech workforce; from the individual contributor level to leadership and beyond. We are accomplishing this by partnering with hiring companies, various programs and initiatives who are intentional about increasing Black tech representation through the lens of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Our Story

Black Tech Pipeline

In December of 2018, Pariss Chandler mobilized #BlackTechTwitter, a hashtag, movement and community of Black technologists from all around the world! Mobilized through a viral tweet posted by Pariss, “What does Black Twitter in Tech look like?” the rapid response garnered attention from Black technologists across the globe, media outlets, celebrities, respected leaders in tech and employers.

#BlackTechTwitter, forming overnight in real time, created eagerness and excitement from employers wanting to hire and offer opportunities to members of the new-found community. Pariss volunteered to help recruit members into various companies in her spare time for two years which eventually lead to her leaving Software Engineering to launch Black Tech Pipeline.

Since Black Tech Pipeline’s launch in 2020, we’ve partnered with over 200 companies through our job board and recruitment services, and newsletter. We work as a resource for incoming and current Black technologists and professionals that are searching for new opportunities. Whether it’s jobs, educational programs, scholarship and funding or events, Black Tech Pipeline brings awareness to these opportunities for free.

Our Founder

Pariss Chandler is a Software Engineer turned Founder & CEO of Black Tech Pipeline.
In 2017, Pariss broke into tech through a coding bootcamp in Boston, MA. After completing her program and entering the tech workforce, it became difficult to assimilate in the workplace due to the major lack of diversity and inclusive practices.
Following the successful mobilization of #BlackTechTwitter in 2018 and the ongoing efforts to increase Black tech representation through Black Tech Pipeline, Pariss’ work has garnered attention from numerous media outlets, including Forbes, Business Insider, Boston Globe, and Boston Business Journal, among others.
